South Page FFA and Northwest Missouri State University Support our Troops

SOUTH PAGE FFA members assemble boxes for the donations being gathered as part of the Support Our Troops program. The chapter is working on the project in conjunction with Northwest Missouri State University.

In conjunction with Northwest Missouri State University's ATA/CFFA and Student Senate, the South Page FFA chapter is participating in a project called Support Our Troops. This project sends care packages to our troops who are overseas. The scheduled date to end is March 1st. During this time FFA members will be collecting things on the list to deliver to NWMSU. If you would like to help out the cause you can contact any South Page FFA member, their advisor Rachel Saunders or Alexis Miller, Committee Chair at NW. Even if you can't contribute much, anything would be greatly appreciated. You could even write a short letter, draw a picture or send a card that could go into a care package. If you have something you would like to donate you may drop it off at the Agriculture department on NW campus or South Page Agriculture department. Also if you would like to mail any items to us that would be acceptable also, but the committee asks if you do to let them know so they can be looking for it in the mail. If you have a family member or friend who is in the military and is stationed overseas, feel free to contact someone and give them their company's name and address and we will try our best to get something to that company. The agriculture students at South Page have gotten very excited about this project and have decided to make it a school wide contest. Every grade will have a box and a collection cup. The grade with the most items collected in groups K-6 and groups 7-12 will receive a reward sponsored by the FFA. Every dollar that is collected is equal to one item. The last day that students will collect items at school will be February 26th. The FFA is also donating T-shirts to each class for them to decorate and include in their collection boxes. This project hits close to home for many area families and friends. There are many people from here who have been, are related to, or know someone who has served overseas recently. If you would like to help please do not hesitate to get in touch with any South Page FFA member or their advisor.
