Staying Fit & Healthy is Focus of UNL Program

Helping Nebraskans find a balance with food and fitness is the focus of a seven-week program sponsored by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension beginning in February.  “Creating Balance with Food and Fitness” is a web-based series of weekly interactive sessions.
The program is designed to help build skills that adults need for healthy living. Participants will learn about health indicators, goals to maintain health, food choices and exercise options.
“Creating Balance with Food and Fitness” begins Tuesday, February 7, and continues each Tuesday through March 20. The hour-long programs start at noon. Participants can watch the classes live at the Dawson County Extension Office, 1002 Plum Creek Parkway in Lexington.
Recorded sessions also will be available for those who want to watch it later at their convenience.
The registration fee is $20 until January 24. For complete details on how to pre-register visit http://food.unl.edu//web/fnh/food_fitness, or contact Andrea Nisley, UNL Extension Educator in Dawson County, at 308-324-5501. After January 24, the registration fee will be $25. The fee includes a wellness kit, postage and class fees.
