Cattle Special Bred Auction Open and Mid-Session for 01/06/2009
Receipts: 4000 Last Week: 191 Last Year: 1593
Compared to three weeks ago on Dec 16th, feeder cattle sold 6.00-10.00
higher (mostly 8.00-10.00 higher). The advance was posted on all weights of
calves and yearlings with 5 weight heifer calves as much as 13.00 higher.
Demand was very good from aggressive buyers on an extremely attractive
offering. Slaughter cows sold 3.00-5.00 lower with slaughter bulls trading
1.00-3.00 lower.
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 300-400 lbs 121.00-124.00; 400-500 lbs
117.00-127.00; 500-600 lbs 110.00-116.50, fleshy 100.75-103.75; 600-700 lbs
100.50-108.25, unweaned/fleshy 100.50-101.50; 700-800 lbs 97.75-103.00,
fleshy 97.10-98.50; 800-900 lbs 96.25-100.90. Medium and Large 1-2 400-500
