Feeder Cattle Weighted Average and Slaughter Cattle Report for 12/31/08
Receipts: 3000 Two Weeks Ago: 3610 Year Ago: None
Compared with two weeks ago, steers and heifers trended steady to 3.00
higher, mostly 3.00 higher. Demand and trade activity was good. Slaughter
cows and bulls traded 4.00 to 7.00 higher with instances of 8.00 to 10.00
higher. Total receipts consisted of 87 percent feeders and 13 percent
slaughter cows and bulls. Feeder cattle offerings were comprised of 58
percent steers and 42 percent heifers, with 47 percent of the total
offerings weighing over 600 pounds.
